Spring and summer events

We are reinstating our ADSE blog! We hope to use this blog as a platform to communicate the exciting events that our local chapters put on. We incredibly proud of the breadth of work by our chapters, including outreach activities, socials, and seminars in the last few months.

ADSE@Berkeley hosted a picnic as a celebration of the end of finals.

A warm welcome to our newest chapter, ADSE@NEU! The chapter started its speaker series and hosted Prof. Elena Jakubikova (NC State), who spoke about her journey in science. The chapter also hosted an Earth day focused on plastics sustainability and development of new polymers with keynote speaker Joanne Stubbe (MIT). Check out a recent article featuring the efforts by this chapter.

ADSE@TAMU recently hosted Science Night at Pebble Creek Elementary, focusing on the chemistry of lemons and how it can applied in lemon-powered batteries. The chapter also recently hosted a diversity lecture and professional workshop on effective negotiation tactics.

We are so proud of these creative events from our chapters! We can't wait to see what you do next.

Don't forget: The next Young Researchers Conference is coming up! This one-day conference will be held at the University of Maryland, College Park on September 29th. Check out the full list of speakers and register now! This event is free. A deposit of $5 is required and will be refunded upon check in. For more information, please contact Alessandra Zimmermann.
